How Does Dental Plaque caused disease?
The bacteria in the plaque produce toxins (poisons) will cause the gums to become red and swollen (inflammation). This is the beginning stage of periodontal diseases. As the disease progresses, the toxins will start to destroy the underlying bone that supports the teeth. Eventually, the teeth become loose and shaky.
